Learn how to quickly pull the live bitcoin price in Excel. This same method can be used to import other cryptocurrencies as well.
As of May 2022, the following cryptocurrencies are available in Excel.
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Ripple (XRP)
- Ethereum (ETH)
How to pull real-time Bitcoin Price in Excel
Start by creating a new spreadsheet.
In order to display crypto currency pricing in Excel, you must use the Cryptocurrency + Price Currency.
For example, if we want to show the Bitcoin Price in Excel, we would use: BTCUSD
Let’s Get Started

Step 1: Create a list of Cryptocurrencies

In this first step, we begin by inputting the cryptocurrency we want to track in Excel. As mentioned above, we need to use the Cryptocurrency + Price Currency. In our example, I’m showing BTC, ETH, and XRP in USD and EUR.
Step 2: Create a Table
Step 3: Convert to Stocks
Step 4: Format Crypto Tracking Results

Once the cells are formatted into stocks, Excel will pull in live data. You can add additional columns by selecting the “Add Column” box in the right hand corner.
